The Met Club Closes; El Centro Opens

CHESTNUT HILL — The Metropolitan Club closes tomorrow, June 28, at the end of a decade-long lease. All other locations will remain open, and the brand is beginning an expansion "across the country with a major mall owner," starting with an outpost in Bethesda, Maryland. [Eaterwire]

BELMONT — El Centro Tres, a sibling to El Centro in the South End and El Centro Dos in Brookline, opens at 66 Leonard Street in Belmont this coming Tuesday, July 1. The space fits 60-70 people, plus 12 at the bar. The Mexican restaurant features specialties from executive chef/owner Allan Rodriguez' native Sonora, and there's a full liquor license. DOWNTOWN CROSSING — Latitude 360, a nightclub based in Florida, could open in a 63,000-square-foot space in Downtown Crossing. It would include a restaurant, bowling lanes, a dine-in movie theatre, and other features. [BBJ]
