Pavement Coffeehouse owner Lawrence Margulies will complete the consolidation of his brand as he turns his last remaining non-Pavement outpost into a Pavement: Bagel Rising in Allston. Boston Restaurant Talk reported the news last week via licensing info, and a representative of the shop has confirmed with Eater that the transformation (which will include a "major facelift") should occur in August.
Margulies opened the bagel shop in 2002, began wholesaling bagels to the three local Espresso Royale Caffes in 2004, bought those three shops in 2006, and opened Pavement Coffeehouse on Boylston Street in 2010. Since then, he has transformed the Espresso Royales into Pavements.
Additionally, a brand new Pavement is also on the way, slated for 1330 Boylston Street in the Fenway neighborhood. No timeline has been announced yet.
