Loretta's Last Call opens to the public today, taking over the former La Verdad space on Lansdowne Street and promising "live music, fried chicken, and cold beer." Indeed, the menu has several varieties of fried chicken and lots of beer (mostly in cans). As for the music, it'll be in the country realm.
The menu tops out at $22 for a 12-ounce ribeye with tobacco onions, but most of the entrees are in the mid-teens, like the Southern fish fry or brisket plate, both $17. Sandwiches range from $8 (fried baloney with mayo and American cheese) to $12 (blackened catfish with greens and lemon mayo).
Loretta's Last Call is open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, although this weekend, it'll only be open at night. Brunch launches next weekend. 1 Lansdowne Street, Boston, MA 02115; (617) 421-9595; Website / Facebook / Twitter
