The Halal Guys, a New York City food cart chain with a few brick-and-mortar locations in the works, has just signed on with franchise consulting firm Fransmart (also behind Five Guys and Qdoba), aiming to open 100 restaurants around the world in the next five years. The East Coast is one of the early targets for year one, and in an interview with The New York Times, Fransmart executive Dan Rowe mentions the possibility of franchises "radiating from Boston and Chicago into the suburbs."
