The Abbey Opens Tomorrow; Filipino Pop-Up Dinner

PORTER SQUARE — The Abbey opens in Cambridge tomorrow in the former Addis Red Sea space. It's a second location; there's also one in Brookline's Washington Square. [Twitter]

DOWNTOWN — The SALO Project, a Filipino dinner pop-up series, is doing a 50-state tour, and Massachusetts is 13th on the list, with the event taking place this Sunday, June 1. There are only a few seats left for the five-course, family-style, utensil-free dinner, so get in on it now. Tickets are $50 and include courses like chicharong bulaklak (deep-fried pork mesentery), inihaw na isda (grilled stuffed fish wrapped in banana leaves), and halava (purple yam) ice cream. [Feastly]

SEAPORT — The ICA's popular Talking Taste series returns this June for a sixth season, featuring talks and demos by some of the city's most interesting folks from the food and beverage industry. Admission is $15 ($10 for students and ICA members), and this season includes talks by Tim Maslow (June 13), Sam Treadway (June 20), and Jeremy Sewall (June 27). [Official Site]
