DC-based salad chain sweetgreen officially opens its third Boston-area location today at Chestnut Hill Square. (A second location recently opened in Fort Point, while the first opened in Back Bay last summer.) Like all other locations, the new spot focuses on relationships with local farms, displaying produce origins prominently on a chalkboard. Ward's Berry Farm and Westfield Farm make appearances on the opening menu, as well as Iggy's Bread. In addition to "signature" salads and a design-it-yourself option, there are also grain bowls full of things like quinoa and farro. Here's the current menu.
The new sweetgreen is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day and offers indoor and outdoor seating. There's a dedicated station for those picking up online orders, which should help beat the potential lunch rush.
