Cocktail historian David Wondrich picks out the "best bars in America" for Esquire, including two Boston spots — The Hawthorne and J.J. Foley's. Foley's is a weird choice, though, in that he picks the downtown location. For the Herald's "Fork Lift" blog, Kerry J. Byrne makes the case that it was clearly a mistake; it's the South End J. J. Foley's that is "more famous and certainly better." [Esquire, BH]
