Amsterdam Falafelshop, a DC-based restaurant that opened a branch in Somerville's Davis Square almost two years ago, has made no secret of its plan to add more locations in Boston and beyond at some point. (Currently, there are two in DC as well as one in Annapolis, Maryland.) Now, a lease has been signed for a Kenmore Square location — 642 Beacon Street, the former Boca Grande space. It could open later this year, and it'll have twice the seating of the cozy Somerville spot.
As the name suggests, falafel's the focus at Amsterdam Falafelshop. Diners can get it in a bowl or in a pita, and there's a DIY topping bar with lots of house-pickled condiments. Stay tuned for an opening date for the new location.
