Since opening its first storefront in Dorchester's Lower Mills in 2003, Flat Black Coffee Company has grown to include five espresso bars around the city as well as a substantial wholesale business. Now, it's expanding again, opening in the Seaport District's Channel Center on A Street in partnership with Freshii, a grab-and-go international chain that specializes in the self-described "health-casual" genre of wraps, rice bowls, and the like. (There's currently one Freshii in Boston, located at 100 High Street — and that one has a Flat Black attached as well.) Flat Black promises that new location will open "in a few short weeks."
