Ferry Street Food & Drink will open its doors at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. The 80-seat "classic neighborhood tavern" will serve "refined" and "simple" food, according to its website; the opening menu offers dishes like barbecue pork meatballs over cheddar grits, a roasted half chicken, braised rabbit, and an ice cream-topped warm cookie in a skillet.
The space has been home to a number of other restaurants over the years, and some claim that a patron of one of those old restaurants still haunts it. Ferry Street will be closed on Mondays and open noon to midnight Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, and 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday.
