'Chef' Debuts Friday; Burger Pop-Up at Tavern Road

HUB-WIDE — Jon Favreau's new film, Chef, will be released locally this Friday, May 16, showing at the AMC Loews Boston Common and the Kendall Square Cinema. Over on Eater National, check out the trailer, a Q&A with Favreau, and a review of the movie. There will also be a special showing at the Revere Hotel this coming Monday, May 19, featuring "themed fare" from Barry Maiden (State Park, Hungry Mother), beer, and cocktails. FORT POINT — Richard Chudy and Sam Monsour are holding their second Super Burger Bros pop-up ("Level 2") next Tuesday, May 20 (10 p.m. - 2 a.m.), this time at Tavern Road. Get ready for three different burgers (one by Chudy and Monsour, one by the Tavern Road kitchen team, and one by the Tavern Road bar team), sides, and beer. [FB]

FENWAY — The previously reported Southern restaurant that the Lyons Group is opening on Lansdowne Street will be called Loretta's Last Call, and it will take the place of the shuttered La Verdad. [UHub]
