The Abbey has been open in Brookline's Washington Square for a few years now, serving up plenty of beer with a side of comfort food. Back in November, it became clear that the bar and restaurant was expanding across the river, taking over the former Addis Red Sea space in Porter Square. Now, opening day has almost arrived — UrbanDaddy reports that it could be tomorrow or Thursday.
Expect two floors, each with a bar, and each of those bars with 13 draft lines (as well as tons of whiskey and other liquor). There are also nearly 50 bottled beers, including a selection of local brews and some international options, some craftier than others. On the food side: short rib hash, bison bolognese, steak frites, and more.
