The Glenville Stops isn't the only restaurant opening tomorrow. Over in Dorchester's Lower Mills neighborhood, ester is also opening, located in the former Ledge Kitchen & Drinks space. Eleanor Arpino is behind the project — she was formerly the vice president and director of operations at Davio's. She also consulted on the Ledge at one point and fell in love with it, eventually proposing to buy it.
A press release for the new restaurant promises "a happy, neighborhood vibe," and earlier reports played up the large patio and rooftop garden as well as a menu meant to reflect the neighborhood's diversity (plus an assortment of burgers, salads, and other staples). The menu will change seasonally and make ample use of produce from the rooftop, and there's also a full bar. Dinner begins nightly at 5 p.m., and lunch service will launch in a few weeks.
