Sofá Café, a small Brazilian coffee shop chain, has opened its first US location here in Boston, right on Newbury Street. Founder Diego Gonzales previously worked in nature conservation but developed a passion for coffee, ultimately traveling around Brazil, the US, and Europe to learn what makes a good coffee — and a good coffee shop. "Sofá" means what it sounds like, and Sofá Café's aim is to be cozy and homey.
Serving coffee and related drinks as well as pastries and sandwiches, the shop is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
