After nearly 45 years, Newbury bar Daisy Buchanan's will shut down this fall, probably in late October or early November, the Boston Herald reports. Owner Joe Cimino has sold the building (and another next door) to real estate investment firm UrbanMeritage, which will renovate the space and ultimately bring in one or two retailers.
A self-proclaimed "high class dive bar," Daisy Buchanan's offers Great Gastby-themed cocktails (the name is a reference to one of the main characters in the novel) and a comfort menu mostly consisting of sandwiches. Stay tuned for a closing date.
