Two years ago, Kickass Cupcakes moved its bakery operations 0.7 miles down Highland Avenue into a space by the Armory, but its Davis Square space at 378 Highland Avenue continued to be the retail storefront. Now, according to signage at both locations, the Davis space will close after April 30, and the bakery space at 199C Highland Avenue, right by M.F. Dulock, will become the storefront.
As the name suggests, Kickass Cupcakes specializes in cupcakes, from various sizes of the standard baked good to twists like deep-fried cupcakes and even "pupcakes" and "kittycakes" that are meant for pets. They also offer vegan and gluten-free options. The store hosts occasional cupcake "happy hours" with free samples of cocktail-inspired treats; stay tuned to find out whether that continues at the new location.
