Legal Oysteria, a one-off Legal Sea Foods concept headed for the former Olives space in Charlestown, is now aiming for a "late spring" opening, according to a job posting. It will be "a casual neighborhood restaurant" that focuses on "coastal Italian-style seafood," the type that executive chef Rich Vellante "cooks at home for family and friends." Earlier reports indicate that Vellante will also make use of the brick oven, grill, and rotisserie that came with the space.
Recently, Legal Sea Foods has been diversifying its brand with a variety of offshoots. Another one-off concept just opened up in a luxury condo building in Downtown Crossing — Legal Crossing, which seems to want to be a swanky nightlife spot. And a new Legal C Bar will open soon at Somerville's Assembly Row.
