The 13-seat bar at Brookline's Taberna de Haro is undergoing a bit of a rebirth — even getting its own name, Straight Law — thanks to a couple of Drink alums, Will Thompson and Sean Sullivan. BostonChefs.com reports on the new bar program at the tapas restaurant, noting that it will feature a "very simple" list of eight-dollar cocktails, particularly focusing on gin and sherry. The bar takes its new name from the Straight Law cocktail (appropriately a gin and sherry concoction) from the Savoy Cocktail Book of the 1930s.
Taberna de Haro opened in 1998, and the menu draws from chef/owner Deborah Hansen's experiences living in Spain for nearly a decade. She also offers a selection of over 300 Spanish wines.
