It's (soft) opening day for the new sweetgreen in Fort Point; today's hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and everything's "pay what you want," with all proceeds benefiting Mass Farmers Markets. This is a second Boston outpost for the DC-based salad chain; the first opened in Back Bay almost a year ago.
The 44-seat, counter-service restaurant features a range of "signature" salads as well as a build-it-your-own option, and the April special, the VB6 quinoa salad, was designed by cookbook author Mark Bittman. Pro-tip: Order the kale caesar salad "buffalo-style" to get Sriracha mixed in. You can also play with the amount of dressing (your salad-maker will offer light, medium, or heavy) and mix and match drinks (try a 50:50 ration of the cucumber ginger limeade and the black tea for a variation on an Arnold Palmer.) When real hours (and prices) kick in tomorrow, sweetgreen will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
