Earlier this week, Eater heard reports that O Ya's Tim and Nancy Cushman were possibly opening two restaurants and two bars at the under-renovation Park South Hotel in New York City's Midtown, and No. 9 Park alum Ted Kilpatrick has already moved to New York to helm the bars. While O Ya and Kilpatrick have not confirmed the news with Eater yet, Food & Wine confirms that at least part of it is true: The Cushmans will open Roof, a fireplace-and-palm-tree-bedecked rooftop bar, at the hotel next month. They'll serve "drink-friendly Mediterranean-inspired bar bites — think crudos and skewers."
While the question remains about the two rumored restaurants, one of which could be an O Ya outpost, and a second bar, it does look like more is in the works. Kilpatrick's current Twitter bio mentions opening a "couple" of bars in a Midtown hotel, and a Craigslist post also sheds more light on the upcoming plans.
"We are a new rooftop cocktail bar at the Park South Hotel," reads the post. "We will provide a unique hospitality experience for guests and offer impeccably executed cocktails. The food menu will be craveable and the environment warm and welcoming environment...This is a great opportunity to join a growing culinary team, led by James Beard award-winning Chef Tim Cushman...He will be introducing new food and beverage concepts within the Park South Hotel through 2015 and is looking to build a strong culinary team for the project."
