Garage Boston Opens in Allston April 17

If you like "luxury cars," "beautiful people," "unique ambiances," cage dancers, and websites that auto-play video and music, you're in luck: Garage Boston officially opens on April 17. The Allston venue hosted a few parties in the very beginning of 2013, including a soft opening, but apparently it took an extra year or so to get things off the ground.

According to Garage Boston's very first Facebook photo from November 2012, it was supposed to be a "private supper club," part of the Russian Benevolent Society, but the name and marketing worried neighbors that it would be more nightclub than supper club. An April 2013 Boston.com article notes that the owners were thinking about changing the name (then Garage Lounge) and the way they were presenting the venue to avoid misunderstandings, so apparently that involved just removing the "lounge." At this point, it's unclear whether you can just stroll into Garage Boston — it appears to be available only for reserved events — but stay tuned for more information.

UPDATE: According to a post on Garage's Facebook page from someone apparently affiliated with it, the venue will be open from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, offering a full food and cocktail menu, a patio, free parking (!), and "an amazing lounge atmosphere."
