The Ferdinand Building in Roxbury's Dudley Square is undergoing a $120-million renovation set to be completed next year, and some familiar names want to get into the new development: Tasty Burger, Parish Cafe, Bon Me, and Salvatore's (as well as Starbucks, Burger King, and Dunkin' Donuts). The 1880s building will be home to the Boston Public Schools administration, and there will be six retail spaces available on the ground floor. In total, 22 businesses have put in proposals for those spaces, and the winners will be chosen within a few months by a committee of representatives from the neighborhood as well as city officials, reports the Boston Globe.
