Is it a salon? A pizzeria? Both? A tipster reports that the mysterious restaurant first reported in the fall, Scissors & Pie, is now open in the former Bostone Pizza space on Newbury Street. Its internet trail consists mainly of empty Twitter and Facebook accounts, but signage from back in September promises "a renovation of pizza in America."
The tipster bought two slices of pizza yesterday (one margherita and one sausage with broccoli) and reported being "flabbergasted" when it rang up as $19. They charge by the ounce, the tipster writes, adding, "Holy cow!"
UPDATE: Scissors & Pie now has a website, including a menu. The "Scissors" refers to how the pizza is cut. ("The evil pizza wheel stops here," says the website.)
