Things are brewing at Michael Schlow's Tico in Boston and beyond. Here, there's a new executive chef, Leo Asaro, although he's not new to Schlow — he's spent the last decade at Via Matta and the now-shuttered Radius. He has just revamped 50-60% of the menu, he tells Boston Magazine; there's now a "Can't Decide?" category, for example, that includes three tasting menu options: "Kind of Hungry" ($35/person), "Forgot to Eat Lunch" ($55/person), and "Full on Tico Experience" ($85/person). And as is the fashion these days, the regular portion of the menu is comprised almost entirely by small plates, supplemented by just a few full-sized entrees.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited Washington, DC expansion could finally open this May, helmed by Tico Boston's former chef, George Rodrigues, Eater DC reports. Other Schlow concepts could follow down there.
