30-year-old Fritz Bar closed in mid-January, but the South End space won't be empty for long. A new 82-seat "American pub" called Trophy Room will open in its place early this spring, featuring dishes like spicy duck boudin, scotch eggs, and ahi tuna nachos. Expect giant windows looking out onto the sidewalk, actual trophies on display, and plenty of televisions.
Zagat reports on the names behind it: Evan Campbell as chef (an alum of Pub 47 Central in Lynn), Delphine Chauffier as general manager (previously at La Voile in Back Bay), and William Barr Yerxa as bar manager (from the Friendly Toast). Trophy Room will be open for breakfast and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch.
