SOUTH END — This Thursday, March 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the New England Center for Arts & Technology is hosting a food and wine event (tastings, demonstrations, an auction, a competition) to celebrate its inaugural class. Chefs like Andy Husbands of Tremont 647, Frank McClelland of L'Espalier, Will Gilson of Puritan & Co., and more will be in attendance, and there will also be appearances by some Patriots. UNION SQUARE — The Jack Daniel's blog highlights the new Bantam Cider Tap Room in Somerville, praising the "underdog attitude." (The word "bantam" refers to a light weight class in boxing.) There's also a recipe for a cocktail combining Jack's Single Barrel with Bantam's Wunderkind. [Jack Daniel's]
