A couple of interesting tidbits come by way of the most recent Somerville Licensing Commission agenda [PDF] for a meeting that took place earlier this week. Precinct, which has been closed since early February for a major revamp, reportedly including a renewed focus on food and drink instead of live music, wants to change its name to Local Branch. It's unclear whether this has anything to do with the fact that a Boston restaurant is opening today by the name of Precinct Kitchen + Bar.
Meanwhile, Aguacate Verde, which replaced Tacos Lupita on the outskirts of Porter Square a few years back, is seeking to "make alterations to the premises" to add a bar.
