The South End's newest opening happens tonight at 5 p.m. — right by the previous opening in the neighborhood, incidentally. Wink & Nod, a "craft cocktail speakeasy," has been softly open for a few days now, but tonight is the real deal. No reservations for now — just first come, first served — but OpenTable appears to be accepting reservations from April 14 on.

In addition to a beverage list that ranges from bottled cocktails to original drinks named for pop stars of various eras to an ultra-expensive concoction for high rollers, Wink & Nod is coming out of the gate strong by bringing on the Whisk team for food. The collaboration is logically called Whisk at Wink & Nod, and the menu includes things like smoky jars of quail yakitori, a squid ink pasta dish that was a favorite at past Whisk pop-ups, and a "fresh Twinkie" dessert ("SERIOUS business," writes an early Yelper.) Starting tonight, Wink & Nod will be open nightly from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
