Sofá Café, a mini chain of cozy São Paulo coffee shops, opens any day now at 217 Newbury Street. ("Sofá" does in fact mean "sofa," so prepare to lounge.) The cafe posted a photo of the Boston team training earlier this week with the following note (in Portuguese): "Let's take Brazilian coffee, and the way of serving coffee to which we are accustomed, to one of the biggest consumer markets of coffee in the world! We are very happy for this landmark and very grateful to everyone who likes Sofá Café...conquering this was only possible thanks to you!!!"
According to the Newbury Street location's website, the cafe will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, serving hot and cold beverages, pastries, and sandwiches.
