Yes, Bibim Could Come to Somerville

As reported last month, Bibim, a Korean restaurant in Allston, is indeed looking to expand to the former McDonald's space in Somerville's Davis Square. Courtney O'Keefe, who runs a blog about Ward 5, attended a community meeting about the expansion and shared some new details.

The top priority is obtaining a liquor license; the restaurant will go before the board next week to seek one. As for the space, owners Young and Ed Kim, a mother and son, intend to completely renovate it, creating an open feel with "rustic materials," as few partitions as possible, and fold-up windows leading to the outside. Eventually, they'd like to add outdoor seating as well. The space will seat 92, and the elder Kim, an artist, will decorate it with sculptures and paintings.
