Tamarind House, a Thai restaurant in Cambridge's Porter Square, has apparently closed. A tipster reports finding it locked today, although the chairs and tables are still in place. The phone number has been disconnected, and it is impossible to place an order on multiple websites that used to offer delivery for the restaurant. The restaurant's own website and Facebook page don't have any recent updates or information about closing.
The tipster inquired at Stone Hearth Pizza nearby and learned that Tamarind House closed "a few weeks ago" after being sold, and that something else will go in on April 1, although there are no visible permits in the windows at this time. A search of the address does not reveal any licensing documents or any additional information. Stay tuned for more, and hit up the tipline with any intel.
UPDATE: A nearby store owner tells Eater that the owner of Tamarind House gave up the business in order to move back to Thailand and spend time with her family. A Thai-Vietnamese restaurant is slated to take its place.
