The self-described chef/artist/entrepreneur/inventor David Burke, a restaurateur with various concepts in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Illinois, now has his eyes on Boston. Last night, he tweeted, "Thinkin' about a DB boston location, thoughts?" Today, he appeared in town for a "quick trip."
Where would you like to see a David Burke restaurant? (Try tweeting suggestions at him as he's quite active on the social media channel.) His existing concepts include Burke's Bacon Bar, a grab-and-go, bacon-centric sandwich shop; David Burke Prime Steakhouse, a giant space at Foxwoods; David Burke Fishtail, an "innovative seafood concept" on the Upper East Side of Manhattan; and more. The chef completed several stages in France before working his way through the industry back in the US, eventually becoming vice president of culinary development for the Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group in the late 90s before building his own restaurant empire over the last decade.
