As reported last week, world-renowned chef Daniel Boulud is taking over Asana at the Mandarin Oriental with Aaron Chambers as chef de cuisine. A press release has just been issued, giving a few more details about the space, including the name: Bar Boulud, the same as two other restaurants in Boulud's empire — one in London and one in New York.
It'll be a "French-inspired bistro and wine bar," and construction will begin in late June with the opening slated for the fall. Here's what the menu looks like at the New York City location. The designer is Adam D. Tihany of Tihany Design, who has worked on a number of luxury hotels and high-end restaurants, including Boulud's New York City flagship, Daniel.
