DooWee & Rice closed its Somerville doors in November so that owner Duy Tran could focus on expansion to Allston's Wonder Bar (and another expansion all the way in London), but over the last few weeks, the restaurant has temporarily popped back up in its former space (which will eventually become Teriyaki House) with limited hours during the transition to Allston.
Now, there's even better news for Somerville fans: a mini DooWee & Rice menu will continue to be available at the upcoming Teriyaki House under the supervision of Tran's sous chef. "Since I will not be in the kitchen at 868 Broadway there will be certain dishes that will not be available," writes Tran on Facebook. "What this means: Many DooWee and Rice dishes will remain available in Somerville at 868 Broadway 7 days a week 10 hours a day + delivery all day. I stand by my quality and will properly maintain every aspect of my dishes that have become local favorites."
