Allston's Bibim Could Expand to Davis Sq. McD's Space

Allston Korean restaurant Bibim could expand to Somerville's Davis Square, taking over the shuttered McDonald's space. A licensing hearing agenda from last week indicates that Young Mi Kim, chef/co-owner of Bibim in Allston, is seeking a common victualer license and a full liquor license for another Bibim at 243 Elm Street.

In September, the Globe's Cheap Eats column glowingly featured Bibim, describing it as "mom's home cooking" — dishes like budae ("army stew") and dduk boki. "Nothing at Bibim has been Americanized and the heat hasn't been toned down either."
