Rare Disease Fundraiser; Open Mic Dinner at Dot 2 Dot

KENDALL SQUARE — Now through this Friday night, February 28, Commonwealth is raising money for the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) in recognition of Rare Disease Day, which is Friday. The restaurant will donate 10% of sales from items ordered off of the special "Uncommon Dinner Menu," and Cambridge BioMarketing will match the donation. [Press Release]

DORCHESTER — This Friday, Dot 2 Dot Cafe is hosting an open mic night dinner in collaboration with the Boston School of Music Arts. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the music starts at 7. $10 minimum per person. A similar event last month included options like garlic shrimp over pasta, vegan crepes with bananas, and rosemary panna cotta with apricot compote. [Official Site]

SOUTH BOSTON — Also on Friday, Kitchensurfing and Drizly (chefs cooking in your home and alcohol delivered to your door, respectively) are teaming up for an event at GrandTen Distillery: snacks, drinks, and tours of the distillery. Admission is $35, and the event begins at 5:30 p.m. [Eventbrite]
