JAMAICA PLAIN — Fatboy Secrets, a "modernized non-kosher Jewish cuisine" pop-up, pops up at Tres Gatos tomorrow (Tuesday, February 25) with dishes like helzel and gefilte shrimp. It's a six-course meal for $50, with optional wine pairings for $35. Reservations are strongly recommended; call (617) 477-4851. [FB]
FENWAY — The Nightcap, "an annual and unofficial MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference after-party," is taking place on March 1 at Church at 7:30 p.m., and part of the festivities includes a Connect Four competition with a few local food folks competing: James DiSabatino of Roxy's Grilled Cheese and a mystery Mei sibling from Mei Mei. Tickets are $12, and the event — which also includes various comedy and musical components — benefits the Rock On Foundation, which seeks to "enrich the quality of life in communities by supporting athletic, artistic, and scholastic initiatives." BACK BAY — International chain Santouka Ramen, which serves Hokkaido-style ramen, doesn't have any locations in the Boston area, but it will be teaming up with Itadaki on Newbury Street to offer 200 bowls of ramen a day for $10 each from March 3rd through March 5th, starting at 4pm. The only option will be Santouka's signature shio ramen, a "mild and creamy soup seasoned with salt" and topped with a pickled plum. [Official Site via Japanese-American in Boston]
