As reported last month, a popular Union Square pub, Bull McCabe's, is expanding (but with "a totally different concept," according to co-owner Brian Manning) into the former Dubliner Pub space in Porter Square (which was Spirit Bar before that).
Manning tells Eater that the new place will officially be called McCabe's Bar & Grille, although some have taken to calling it McCabe's on Mass. "Most customers refer to Bull McCabe's as 'Bulls,'" he explains. "Because of that, we named the new one McCabe's." While the team does want people to recognize that it's the same ownership, they don't want people to come in expecting the same experience. Manning says that the menu will include "a large selection of small plates with different influences from around the world," as well as a "quality selection of sandwiches and entrees." They're currently renovating the space and looking to open in late March or early April.
