What was once Tamarind Bay is now a brightly-colored downstairs space full of Asian street food. According to the restaurant's elaborate Instagram account, Night Market officially opens to the public from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. tonight, December 9, below 48 JFK Street (try 75 Winthrop Street if you get confused.)
Based on sneak peeks the restaurant has been sharing on Instagram over the past few months, diners can expect dishes like stewed minced pork and rice, topped with a fried egg; Wellfleet oysters with nuoc cham and chilis; gyoza; Brussels sprouts with Chinese sausage; lumpia (Filipino egg rolls) with cashew pesto; pork belly toast; deep-fried crickets; and lots more. There has also been mention of slushy cocktails.
