As reported last week, it was possible that a restaurant and bar called The Polar Bar could open at City Hall Plaza this winter, along with an ice skating rink, although the timeline seemed doubtful thanks to a whole lot of necessary permitting that hadn't happened yet.
Indeed, the dream is dead (for now), as it appears that vision will have to wait another year. BostInno is reporting that the project has been put on hold, according to Chris Sinclair, president of The Anthem Group, which is behind it. "After much consideration, there was a mutual decision between both the administration and Anthem to not proceed with Winter's Landing for this season," Sinclair told BostInno. "The build out and setup completion was too close to the holidays to deliver the type of experience the residents and visitors of the City of Boston deserve."
