South Boston Is Getting a Mysterious Seafood Shack

Is it Long John Silver's?

A "seafood shack" will open in South Boston in the first week of January, according to a job posting on Craigslist. No address or name is given in the ad, which is for a "full-time seafood fry chef" with "a seafood culinary background that includes fried seafood shack type menu experience."

The only clue is that it is a Fortune 500 Company and "Top 100 Best Places to Work For!!!", at least according to the ad, which narrows it down to big chains. The Darden restaurant group appears on the Fortune 500 and various "best places to work" lists, but none of its brands would really be described as a "seafood shack." The seafood-focused ones are Eddie V's and its offshoot, Wildfish Seafood Grille, neither of which is very shack-like. Bahama Breeze Island Grille also has some seafood, but again, it's not really a shack.

Best guess? Fried seafood purveyor Long John Silver's, which used to be part of Yum! Brands, which is on the Fortune 500. The nearest location is currently in West Roxbury.
