Dedham-based El Recreo Estate Coffee, Inc., a company that imports coffee beans from co-founder Miriam Morales' family's farm in Nicaragua, is opening up a storefront in West Roxbury. Miriam and Hector Morales announced the new venture in mid-October, originally planning to open in early November.
Recreo Coffee & Roasterie, as it'll be called, hasn't opened yet, but it's getting closer. On December 31, the Moraleses will go before the licensing board for a common victualler license. Located at 1876 Centre Street, the space will seat 18 in a coffee shop in the front, and there will be a roasting facility in the back.
The couple founded El Recreo three years ago, but Miriam's parents' farm in Nicaragua, El Recreo Estate Farm, has been producing coffee for forty years.
