Two adjacent Cambridge restaurants, MuLan Taiwanese Restaurant and Beauty's Pizza, were hit by a two-alarm fire this morning around 3 a.m., reports UniversalHub, noting that they appear "to have been totally destroyed."
Fortunately there were no injuries, according to Wicked Local Cambridge. The article quotes Assistant Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney as saying that the building will "probably be OK" structurally; however, "the interior is probably going to have to be gutted because of the extent of damage." While the cause isn't yet clear, the fire was mostly located in a ceiling storage area above the kitchen. MuLan had been closed for the past few days for "minor renovations." Mahoney seems to give a more optimistic report on Beauty's Pizza, noting only that it "sustained some smoke damage."
MuLan also has a Waltham location.
