After more than two decades on Beacon Street, The Elephant Walk closed down that location in the fall with plans to move over to the South End, taking over the former BoMA space. (Meanwhile, it's business as usual at the restaurant's Cambridge location.) The South End location quietly opened over the weekend, report both BosGuy and Boston Restaurant Talk. An employee at the Cambridge location confirms the news.
The Elephant Walk offers a menu that touches on both French and Cambodian cuisines; opt for the prix fixe menu to get a convenient taste of both. The restaurants also offer cooking classes in both styles (and beyond).
Located on Washington Street, the new South End location replaces BoMA, which closed in July after being open just over a year and a half.
UPDATE: The South End location does not offer a prix fixe menu, but most dishes are available in both full and half portions to allow for tasting multiple things. "We are very happy to move to the South End and look forward to starting a new chapter with The Elephant Walk," manager Sylvain Linozzi tells Eater.
