Two things to eat this week.

A new pop-up group called Concept Kitchen is hosting its first dinner tomorrow night, December 3, near Harvard Square (learn the location when you buy a ticket), offering a five-course autumn menu that includes dishes like French-style pumpkin soup, sesame focaccia, and ginger pear crisp. (Here's the full menu.) Tickets are $40 ($52 to include wine pairings), and vegetarian options are available. Seating is limited to 30 attendees. Buy tickets here.

Tu y Yo alum Estela Calzada, a cooking instructor who hopes to open her own restaurant in the future, is hosting a breakfast pop-up event this Saturday, December 6, at Kitchen Inc. in Somerville's Union Square (201 Somerville Avenue). On the menu: homemade tamales (three different types), spiced Mexican coffee (with piloncillo, cinnamon, and orange zest), and hot holiday ponche (hibiscus tea punch with apples, tamarind, and cinnamon).

The tamale selection:

  • Oxaquenos — chicken seasoned with yerba santa and chiles, wrapped in banana leaves
  • Mole — chicken in a mole sauce
  • Sweet Mexican chocolate

The event begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until everything is sold out. Attendees can get two tamales and a hot drink for $10 or individual tamales for $4 each.
