SOMERVILLE — For the next two Saturdays (December 20 and 27), The Kirkland Tap & Trotter is giving away free drip coffee from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in its new weekend cafe. The cafe also offers teas, pastries, yogurt, and other light breakfast items. Brunch service begins at 10:30 a.m.

FENWAY — Tomorrow, December 20, visit the Eat Boutique holiday pop-up at 1377 Boylston Street between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to pick up boxes of 36 or 100 Island Creek Oysters (pre-order here). Or come by between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to try samples from Zesty Cookies, a company that makes spicy cookies. Or come by at any point during the day to shop for small-batch food treats of all kinds.

DORCHESTER — Ester is laughing in the face of winter and holding an outdoor winter solstice party on its patio this Sunday, December 21, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with grilling, heat lamps, live reggae music, food, and drinks. Tickets are $30 and include food and drinks.

ALLSTON — Totto Ramen has been approved for a beer and wine license.
