Two-and-a-half years after the idea was born, Kindred, a new Davis Square cafe from the owner of Johnny D's (which is located next door), partially opened a week ago, just offering retail goods at first. Today, the cafe starts ramping up to a full open, offering a few more things, according to Facebook: baked goods like scones, cookies, and powdered sugar crescents, as well as hot teas. (There are a couple gluten-free baked options: cranberry biscotti from Curtis Street Bakery and coconut macaroons.)
On the week-old retail side, there are loose teas and tea accessories, house-made shrubs and syrups, and more.
Kindred is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
