The first local outpost of French bakery PAUL, one of up to a dozen upcoming Boston-area locations, opens on November 21 at Somerville's Assembly Row, according to a press release. Founded way, way back in 1889, the company now has over 600 locations around the world. A 6,000-square-foot location is currently slated for Downtown Crossing; no word yet on where and when the rest will spring up, but expect more.

The Assembly Row location, which is close to 2,500 square feet, will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. There's space for 40 inside, plus an additional six at a coffee bar, and 15 outside. On the menu: breads, sandwiches, pastries, and coffee.
