SEAPORT DISTRICT — Legendary cocktail historian David Wondrich is hosting a holiday punch class at Empire this Monday, 7 p.m., covering the history of punches. A $50 tickets gets you admission to the class, Empire's unlimited sushi deal (during and after the class or to be redeemed on another day), an autographed copy of Wondrich's punch book, and of course, tastings of punch. Beginning at 8 p.m., there's a punch party in the main lounge; there's no cover for that portion of the evening. Brother Cleve will be on hand to spin some tunes while Wondrich mixes up punches.
UNION SQUARE — Gracie's Ice Cream hasn't opened yet, but now it has some pretty sweet signage.
CENTRAL SQUARE — Viale will now be open seven nights a week, adding in Tuesdays starting this coming week.
KENDALL SQUARE — Area Four used to only take reservations for groups of eight or more, but now any size group can snag a table ahead of time. Check OpenTable or call (617) 758-4444.
