If the walls of Daisy Buchanan's could talk (and it is a very good thing for many Boston residents, past and present, that they cannot) they would likely order a round of stiff-ish shots for last call tonight, as the iconic bar will close its doors for the final time after over four decades of quite literally closing down Newbury Street.
The news of Daisy's exit was first reported last spring after word surfaced that the building Daisy's occupied had been purchased and that the new owners planned on developing the building into high-end retail space. The actual closing date shifted to early November, and Daisy's Twitter feed confirmed that tonight is the final night.
Stop by if you're in the neighborhood. After tonight, there will be those who remember (even vaguely) what Daisy's was like, and those who have to ask.
